What Are New Calibers?

New Calibers has been created by BrowncoatGarrus, who is one of the leading designers for weapon mods and other add-ons for Fallout 4. New Calibers adds large selection of new types of ammo to the game, making the game more realistic and challenging. This mod does however require that you already have all the official Fallout 4 DLC. Although it also compatible with many ammo mods like New Calibers and Loads of Ammo. It is not necessary to have all the Fallout 4 DLC included in this mod to be able to use this ammo changes, they will still work with any mod that doesn't include the said content.

This ammo type comes in three categories; Small Caliber (Sectarian), Powerful Caliber (Rocket launcher), and Scatter Gun. Small Caliber is ideal for pistol users or other character who can use on small caliber weapons effectively. Powerful Caliber is best used by ballistic rifle users, especially when they need massive damage per shot from enemy targets. This caliber is also effective against large groups of enemies.

The Scatter Gun actually comes in two types, the hard shell version and the soft shell. For both models the ammunition is manufactured in steel instead of hollowed out paper. Unlike real Remington firearms, using caliber is entirely up to the user. However, most people stick with using the caliber listed above, as using steel Remington ammo in New Calibers can cause a lot of clipping. However, if you prefer using soft point ammo you will most likely do better with the hard shell, which is similar to Remington's military grade ammunition. All in all, New Calibers is just like regular Remingtons, and users can adjust to suit their needs.
